Moises Caceres-Pereira, a 32-year-old citizen of Honduras, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Burien, Washington. The arrest was carried out by Enforcement and Removal Operations Seattle as part of routine immigration enforcement actions targeting individuals unlawfully present in the United States with prior removal orders or criminal records. Caceres-Pereira had previously been removed from the United States in 2016 and was returned to Honduras following a prior immigration case. At an undetermined point after his removal, he unlawfully reentered the country without inspection or parole.

After returning to the U.S., Caceres-Pereira was arrested in Seattle for driving under the influence. While details about the arrest were not disclosed in full, ICE officers confirmed that the DUI charge triggered his identification and led to the reinstatement of his prior order of removal. Following his apprehension in Burien, Caceres-Pereira was transferred to an ICE detention facility, where he will remain in custody pending removal proceedings. Officers served him with paperwork reinstating his previous removal order, a process used when an individual reenters the U.S. illegally after deportation.

He is currently being held while ICE completes the necessary legal steps for his removal to Honduras.
