Moises Tiul-Teyul, a citizen of Guatemala illegally present in the United States, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers with the New Orleans Field Office. His arrest followed a series of criminal offenses committed while residing unlawfully in the country. Tiul-Teyul has a documented criminal history that includes two separate convictions for child restraint violations, which raise serious concerns about the safety and welfare of children in his care. In addition to those offenses, he was also charged with driving without a valid license, further highlighting his disregard for legal requirements and public safety.

Tiul-Teyul has also been arrested for possessing an open container of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle and was previously convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). His pattern of behavior, particularly involving alcohol-related violations, demonstrates a continuing risk to others on the road. Moreover, he has been found in possession of drug paraphernalia, resulting in another charge for unlawful use of such items.

Given the totality of his criminal conduct, ICE officers took Tiul-Teyul into custody to initiate removal proceedings. The combination of traffic, drug, and endangerment violations underscores the agency’s mission to detain and remove illegal aliens who commit crimes while in the United States. Tiul-Teyul remains in ICE custody as his case proceeds through the immigration court system.
