On January 28, 2025, ICE New York is reporting the administrative arrest of a Mexican national, who was previously charged by the State of New York for attempted murder, possession of a weapon and assault. The illegal alien’s name was not released.

On the same day, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 25-year-old Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, a Venezuelan national, during a coordinated operation in New York City. Zambrano-Pacheco was identified as a suspected member of the Tren de Aragua gang, a violent transnational criminal organization originating in Venezuela. He was wanted in connection with an armed break-in at an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. The incident involved forced entry and was part of a broader investigation into organized criminal activity linked to the gang’s presence in the United States.

The arrest occurred as part of a multi-agency federal operation focused on detaining noncitizens with extensive criminal histories, particularly those operating in sanctuary jurisdictions. Agencies involved included ICE, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Zambrano-Pacheco was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in ICE detention pending removal proceedings. He did not have any pending legal immigration claims at the time of arrest.
