Nolberto Meneses/Columbia/Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
Nolberto Meneses, a 42-year-old citizen of Colombia and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans. Meneses has a serious criminal record that includes felony drug and firearm offenses, marking him as a threat to public safety.
Meneses was convicted of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a felony charge stemming from a narcotics investigation in which he was found with a significant quantity of cocaine packaged for distribution. The arrest report noted that he was operating out of a residence suspected of being used for drug trafficking activity. Authorities recovered cocaine, scales, and packaging materials during a search of the property.
In addition to the drug charge, Meneses was also convicted of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. Officers seized a loaded semi-automatic handgun from his vehicle at the time of his drug arrest. According to court documents, Meneses was in possession of the weapon to protect his narcotics distribution operation. The firearm charge was considered an aggravating factor, increasing the severity of his sentence.
He served a term of incarceration in state prison and was released directly to ICE custody upon completion of his sentence. Meneses has no legal immigration status in the U.S., and ICE officers confirmed he had entered the country unlawfully.
He will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings.
