U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed 29-year-old Mexican national Omar Alberto Almodobar Mondragon from the United States on September 4, transferring him at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, Arizona, to the custody of Mexican authorities. He had been housed at the Eloy Detention Center prior to his removal.

Almodobar Mondragon was wanted in Sinaloa, Mexico, on an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated rape against an underage family member, making him a high‑priority foreign fugitive in ICE’s caseload. He originally entered the United States on a visitor’s visa on November 14, 2019, and then remained unlawfully by overstaying that visa for nearly five years.

An ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Phoenix field office spokesman said “there is no place in our society for these vile child predators” and emphasized that the agency will continue its mission to protect public safety and national security by removing dangerous criminal aliens from American communities.
