Pamela Diaz/Mexico/Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Firearm During Drug Trafficking
In July 2025, ICE New Orleans arrested Pamela Diaz, a citizen of Mexico unlawfully present in the United States. Diaz was taken into custody following targeted enforcement efforts focusing on criminal aliens involved in drug trafficking and other violent crimes.
Diaz has a serious criminal record that includes convictions for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in the course of drug trafficking. These offenses are considered aggravated felonies under U.S. immigration law and carry significant public safety implications. The combination of narcotics distribution and armed activity places Diaz among the highest priorities for immigration enforcement.
ICE officers arrested Diaz without incident. She was immediately processed and placed into immigration proceedings. Due to the nature of her convictions, Diaz is ineligible for most forms of immigration relief and will be subject to mandatory detention while her case proceeds through the immigration court system.
Diaz will remain in ICE custody pending a final order of removal. Her prior convictions for narcotics and firearms offenses bar her from remaining in the country under current immigration law. ICE officials have stated that individuals convicted of drug trafficking-related crimes involving firearms are among those prioritized for enforcement actions and removal.
