Pao Angelo Vang/Laos/Sexual Assault

by G. George | June 04, 2025

Pao Angelo Vang, a 53-year-old illegal alien from Laos, was arrested during a joint law enforcement operation led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) St. Paul in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), and the U.S. Marshals Service. Vang is a convicted sex offender, with criminal convictions for third-degree sexual assault of a child and burglary.

Authorities located Vang after verifying his unlawful presence in the United States and confirming his felony sex crime conviction. He had previously failed to comply with immigration removal requirements and remained illegally in the country. Due to the serious nature of his offenses and his immigration status, he was targeted for arrest in this coordinated enforcement action.

Vang’s arrest occurred without incident, and he was transferred into ICE custody for further processing. He will remain in detention while immigration authorities initiate removal proceedings. His criminal background, particularly his conviction involving a child victim, made him a priority for enforcement and detention. Federal agents involved in the operation emphasized the significance of apprehending individuals with serious criminal histories who are present in violation of immigration law.
