On February 3, 2025, ICE Los Angeles arrested Pedro Medina-Villavalso, a 45-year-old citizen of Mexico. Medina has been convicted of lewd or lascivious acts with minor and sentenced to 364 days.

Two days later, on February 5, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Los Angeles arrested 46-year-old Mexican national Alejandro Contreras-Chavez during a targeted enforcement action in California. Contreras-Chavez had unlawfully reentered the United States after a prior deportation and was identified as a high-priority target due to his criminal history.

According to official records, Contreras-Chavez was previously convicted in California for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age. Despite this conviction and prior removal, Contreras-Chavez reentered the U.S. without authorization. ICE officers located him during a routine enforcement action and took him into custody without incident.

Upon arrest, Contreras-Chavez was issued an I-871 Notice of Intent/Decision to Reinstate Prior Order of Removal, citing his previous deportation and illegal reentry as violations of the Immigration and Nationality Act. He is currently detained at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in California, pending removal proceedings. Due to the severity of his criminal conviction and repeated immigration violations, Contreras-Chavez is considered a high-priority case for enforcement and removal.
