Pedro Segundo-Nicolas/Guatemala/Sexual Assault
ICE St. Paul arrested Pedro Segundo-Nicolas, a citizen of Guatemala and an illegal alien present in the United States. Segundo-Nicolas was taken into ICE custody in Minnesota following a targeted enforcement operation. He had unlawfully entered the country on an unknown date and did not possess any legal status to remain in the U.S.
Segundo-Nicolas has a criminal conviction for first-degree sexual assault, a serious felony offense. This conviction indicates that he committed a sexual act under circumstances involving force or against a non-consenting individual, representing a direct threat to public safety. The offense led to a criminal sentence in the jurisdiction where the crime occurred, and ICE officers were notified upon his release.
Due to the nature of his crime and his illegal presence in the U.S., ICE placed Segundo-Nicolas into immigration custody immediately after confirming his conviction and identity. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. Segundo-Nicolas has been issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge and is not eligible for relief from removal under current U.S. immigration laws due to the severity of his offense.
ICE officers emphasized that individuals who commit violent or sexual crimes and remain in the U.S. illegally will face arrest, detention, and removal. Segundo-Nicolas’s case remains pending before the immigration court.
