Qaisar Jabbaral Mentifijy/Iraq/Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, Shoplifting, Failure to Appear

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans arrested Qaisar Jabbaral Mentifijy, a citizen of Iraq, for immigration violations following a series of criminal offenses committed in the United States. Mentifijy, who entered the country without lawful status, has a documented criminal history that includes aggravated assault with a weapon, shoplifting, and multiple failures to appear in court.

Records indicate that Mentifijy was previously arrested by local law enforcement in Louisiana after threatening an individual with a weapon during an altercation. He was charged with aggravated assault and taken into custody. In a separate incident, he was apprehended for shoplifting from a retail establishment and later released with a court date, which he failed to attend. His history includes repeated failures to appear before the court for pending charges and proceedings, further compounding his legal situation.

Due to these offenses and his illegal presence in the U.S., ICE officers located and arrested Mentifijy during a targeted enforcement operation. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being detained pending immigration proceedings.

ERO has confirmed that removal proceedings have been initiated and Mentifijy will remain in ICE detention until a final determination is made regarding his deportation.
