Roberto Cordona/Mexico/Manufacturing, Delivery of a Controlled Substance
On July 24, ICE New Orleans officers arrested Roberto Cordona, a citizen of Mexico, following his release from local custody. Cordona, an illegal alien, has a serious criminal record that includes a conviction for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. For that offense, he was sentenced to three years in prison.
Cordona’s conviction arose from his involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs, placing him among ICE’s priority targets for enforcement. Court documents show that he was apprehended after law enforcement discovered evidence of large-scale drug manufacturing and delivery operations tied to his residence and vehicle. His activities were considered a public safety threat due to the nature of the controlled substances involved and the potential harm to the surrounding community.
After serving time for his felony conviction, Cordona was released into the custody of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations. He will remain detained pending his removal proceedings. ICE confirmed that Cordona has no lawful immigration status in the U.S. and was previously encountered by immigration authorities before reoffending.
ICE officers continue to prioritize the arrest and removal of individuals with serious criminal records, particularly those tied to narcotics distribution.
