Rolando Polito-Malaga/Mexico/DUI

ICE Chicago officers arrested Rolando Polito-Malaga, a 33-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, following his recent encounter with law enforcement in Illinois. Polito-Malaga was arrested by local authorities for driving under the influence (DUI), a dangerous offense that puts countless lives at risk. ICE later took him into custody due to his prior deportation from the United States in 2019 and unlawful reentry into the country.

This arrest marks at least the second time Polito-Malaga has defied U.S. immigration law. Despite being removed in 2019, he returned to the country illegally and has now resumed his criminal behavior. DUI, particularly for repeat offenders, is treated as a serious public safety concern. The fact that Polito-Malaga had already been deported and returned demonstrates a blatant disregard for both the law and public safety.

ICE officials placed an immigration detainer on him and moved quickly to take custody once he was released from local authorities. He now remains in ICE custody pending his removal proceedings. If deported again, he could face additional legal penalties should he attempt to reenter the U.S. without authorization.
