Said Abdulahi Elmi, a criminal illegal alien from Somalia, was arrested during a major Homeland Security operation in Minneapolis on Jan. 7.
Elmi has been convicted of a broad range of offenses spanning narcotics, property crime, and public safety violations. His record includes convictions for possession of opium or derivatives, driving under the influence, possession of a hallucinogen, fraud, attempt to commit burglary, and larceny, reflecting repeated disregard for criminal law across multiple categories.
In addition to these convictions, Elmi has been charged with 20 other crimes, further illustrating a persistent pattern of offending that has repeatedly brought him into contact with law enforcement. His history of substance-related offenses, property crimes, and fraud contributes to his classification as a high-risk offender for both criminal justice and immigration authorities, who evaluate his extensive record when determining detention status and removal actions.
“In the face of violent attacks, ICE law enforcement arrested pedophiles, rapists, and drug traffickers in Minneapolis yesterday,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a news release. “Every single day our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American communities. We will not let rioters slow us down from making Minnesota safe again—something Governor Walz and Mayor Frey REFUSED to do.”
