Somboune Virachak/Laos/Marijuana Distribution

by G. George | August 13, 2026

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Somboune Virachak, a criminal illegal alien from Laos, in Casper, Wyoming, on charges of selling marijuana.

Marijuana distribution involves the sale or transfer of marijuana to others and carries significantly higher criminal penalties than possession under Wyoming law. Depending on the quantity involved and prior history, distribution charges can carry significant felony penalties. Criminal illegal aliens convicted of drug distribution offenses are subject to both state criminal penalties and federal removal proceedings.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers apprehended Virachak in Casper. He currently remains in federal immigration custody and faces removal proceedings before a Department of Justice immigration judge, with potential deportation back to Laos.
