Stephany Soto-Simanca
Stephany Soto-Simanca/Colombia/Aggravated Homicide, Weapon Trafficking
On August 6, 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans deported Stephany Soto-Simanca, a 38-year-old citizen of Colombia, who was wanted in her home country for multiple violent crimes. Soto-Simanca was removed from the United States and transferred to Colombian authorities due to outstanding arrest warrants issued by Colombian law enforcement.
Soto-Simanca had been sought in Colombia for aggravated homicide, illegal manufacturing of firearms, weapons trafficking, and unlawful possession of firearms. She entered the United States illegally on an unknown date and remained in the country without authorization until her arrest by ICE officers. After being taken into custody, ICE confirmed her fugitive status through international law enforcement channels and coordinated with Colombian officials to arrange her deportation.
Her removal followed a final order issued by an immigration judge, and her detention status was maintained while ICE verified the foreign charges. On removal day, Soto-Simanca was flown to Bogotá, Colombia, under escort and handed over to waiting authorities. She will now face prosecution for the pending criminal charges in Colombia. Her deportation marks the conclusion of her unlawful presence in the United States and her return to face justice in her home country.
