Sukhpreet Singh/India/Aggravated Assault

by G. George | June 29, 2025

Sukhpreet Singh, a 29-year-old citizen of India illegally present in the United States, was arrested by ICE San Antonio officers in coordination with multiple federal agency partners. Singh is a foreign fugitive wanted in Canada for serious criminal charges, including aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense. Canadian authorities issued a warrant for his arrest based on evidence linking him to a violent incident that reportedly left a victim hospitalized with serious injuries.

Singh had entered the United States unlawfully and remained in the country despite his active fugitive status abroad. ICE officers located and apprehended him as part of a targeted enforcement operation focused on foreign nationals who are both illegally present and wanted in other countries for serious crimes.

Following his arrest, Singh was processed by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and is currently being held in a secure federal facility. ICE has initiated removal proceedings against him and is coordinating with international partners to ensure that he will be returned to Canada to face the charges pending against him.

Due to the severity of the offenses and his fugitive status, Singh will remain in ICE custody until his deportation is executed. He has no legal basis to remain in the United States, and ICE officials have confirmed he will be removed in accordance with the law and international cooperation protocols.
