Thielma Ulysee, 38, a citizen of Haiti, was arrested by ICE New Orleans following her release from a local detention facility. Ulysee, an illegal alien with a criminal record in multiple jurisdictions, has been arrested for felony possession of counterfeit items, including items believed to be part of a larger operation involving fake currency or fraudulent merchandise. In addition to the felony charge, Ulysee has been arrested on multiple occasions for misdemeanor larceny and shoplifting, with reports indicating she had been apprehended in retail stores across different counties in Louisiana. Authorities also confirmed an arrest for domestic violence, stemming from an altercation that resulted in bodily injury to another individual.

ICE officers identified Ulysee as part of routine enforcement screening at local jails and confirmed she had no legal immigration status in the United States. After verification of her identity and review of her criminal history, she was transferred into ICE custody for immigration violations. Ulysee had no lawful permission to remain in the country and no record of having filed for relief or protection from removal.

She is currently being held in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings before an immigration judge. Her arrest is part of ICE’s continued effort to locate and detain criminal aliens with repeated or serious offenses who are in violation of U.S. immigration law.
