Tiburcio Mandujano/Mexico/Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

Tiburcio Mandujano, a 45-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans, Oakdale sub-office. Mandujano, who is unlawfully present in the United States, was taken into ICE custody following a review of his criminal record and immigration status. His most serious criminal offense includes a federal conviction for being an alien illegally or unlawfully in possession of a firearm. This charge stems from his status as a noncitizen unlawfully present in the country and in possession of a weapon, which violates federal firearms laws and poses a potential threat to public safety.

The arrest took place in Louisiana, where Mandujano had been residing despite lacking legal authorization to be in the U.S. His prior conviction triggered immigration enforcement interest due to the combination of his unlawful presence and his criminal activity involving weapons. Following his arrest, Mandujano was processed and will remain in ICE custody pending a hearing before an immigration judge.
