Victor Ambrocio Alcala-Arellanes, 36, a citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle in coordination with U.S. Border Patrol agents in Bellingham, Washington. Alcala-Arellanes had previously been convicted in Whatcom County for drug trafficking, including possession with intent to deliver fentanyl. His arrest followed a larger investigation into a transnational drug trafficking organization suspected of operating in the Pacific Northwest.

In March 2024, Alcala-Arellanes was among five individuals arrested during a joint law enforcement operation that resulted in the seizure of over three pounds of fentanyl, $6,000 in cash, a sawed-off shotgun, and drug packaging materials. He pleaded guilty to felony drug charges in February 2025 and was sentenced to 16 months in prison. After serving his sentence with the Washington State Department of Corrections, he was taken into ICE custody upon release.

Alcala-Arellanes has a history of illegal presence in the United States and is now being held at the Northwest ICE Processing Center pending removal proceedings. ICE has confirmed that due to the seriousness of his drug-related offenses, Alcala-Arellanes is considered a priority for removal. He will remain in ICE custody throughout the course of his immigration case.
