Washington Luis Manotoa-Quinquintuna/Ecuador/Child Sex Abuse
In May 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Newark arrested Washington Luis Manotoa-Quinquintuna, an Ecuadoran national with a felony conviction for child sexual abuse in Union County, New Jersey. Manotoa-Quinquintuna, who has no lawful immigration status in the United States, was taken into federal custody following his release from a New Jersey correctional facility.
His conviction stemmed from a 2022 investigation in which local authorities determined he had engaged in unlawful sexual contact with a minor. Following his arrest, he was charged and later convicted under New Jersey state law. He served a custodial sentence at a state correctional institution and was required to register as a sex offender.
ICE officers became aware of Manotoa-Quinquintuna’s case through cooperation with state officials and lodged an immigration detainer to ensure his transfer upon release. On the day of his release in 2025, ERO Newark agents executed the arrest and transported him to a secure ICE detention facility.
Manotoa-Quinquintuna had previously entered the United States unlawfully and had no pending applications for legal status. He is now undergoing removal proceedings before an immigration judge and will remain in ICE custody throughout the duration of his case. Officials are coordinating with Ecuadoran authorities to facilitate his eventual deportation.
