On February 19th, 2025, ICE Washington arrested William Gonzalez Hernandez (pictured), a citizen of El Salvador. Gonzalez-Hernandez has been convicted of sodomy with a child less than 13 years of age and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

There are many people committing these crimes daily. For instance, on February 4, 2025, ICE Newark arrested Jorge Luis Sanchez-Luna, a 45-year-old Mexican citizen and registered sex offender, in Newark, New Jersey. Sanchez-Luna was convicted of sex crimes involving a minor, though specific details about the crime were not disclosed.

He was identified as a public safety threat due to his criminal history and status as a noncitizen. ICE emphasized that his removal aligns with their priority of targeting noncitizens with significant criminal convictions. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts to apprehend individuals who pose risks to community safety.

Sanchez-Luna is currently in ICE custody awaiting removal proceedings.
