On February 17, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Boston arrested Xiaosong Wang, a citizen of China. Wang had been convicted of securities fraud and sentenced to 30 days in prison and five years supervision.

Shortly before, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, with the assistance of the Needham Police Department, apprehended a foreign fugitive and criminal alien wanted in China for embezzlement, criminal conversion, fraud, and felony drug trafficking, during a targeted enforcement action on Jan. 23.

The fugitive lawfully entered the United States as a temporary visitor May 2019 and was required to depart by August 2019, which she failed to do.

The criminal alien will remain in Enforcement and Removal Operations custody until her removal.

“Arresting this foreign fugitive and criminal alien underscores the importance of our collaboration with local law enforcement to safeguard public safety and uphold the integrity of our immigration system,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations acting Boston Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde.
