Yee Shae/Thailand/Sexual Abuse of a Minor
Yee Shae, a 30-year-old illegal alien from Thailand, was arrested in Minnesota as part of a multi-agency operation led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) St. Paul. Supporting agencies included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), and the U.S. Marshals Service. Shae has a felony conviction for first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, a crime that qualifies him as a removable criminal alien under U.S. immigration law.
He was previously convicted for engaging in sexual conduct with a minor under the age of consent, a conviction that resulted in his placement on a state sex offender registry. Despite his conviction and illegal presence in the United States, Shae remained at large until apprehended during this coordinated enforcement action. At the time of arrest, officers confirmed that he held no lawful status in the country and had not complied with removal proceedings following his conviction. Shae is now in ICE custody and is subject to formal removal from the United States. No bond has been granted. His case has been prioritized due to the severity of his criminal offense involving a child victim.
