Yeng Vang
Yeng Vang/Laos/Rape, Burglary
Laotian national Yeng Vang was arrested by federal immigration authorities in Saint Paul, Minnesota, during Operation Metro Surge. Vang was previously convicted of rape with strongarm force, multiple counts of sex assault against minors, burglary with assault, unauthorized vehicle use, theft, fraud, stolen vehicle possession, drug possession, and receiving stolen property. Federal records indicate Vang also faced pending charges for additional receiving stolen property offenses, escape to avoid prosecution, and burglary with assault.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement classified Vang among the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens targeted during the Minnesota enforcement surge. According to Department of Homeland Security records, Vang had been subject to a final removal order since March 8, 2018, but remained in the United States until his recent arrest. His criminal history spanning multiple violent sex offenses and property crimes prompted federal officials to prioritize his removal from the country.
