Yuchen Wu/China/Possession of Obscene Material (Child Pornography), Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

ICE New Orleans arrested Yuchen Wu, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and illegal alien, for serious sex offenses involving children. Wu’s criminal history includes a conviction for possession of obscene material involving child pornography, a crime that entails the knowing possession of explicit and exploitative images of minors. In addition, he was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor, a charge that reflects direct involvement in abusive acts targeting a child.

For these crimes, Wu was sentenced to 10 years in prison, underscoring the severity of his offenses and the danger he poses. Following his release from state custody, ICE officers took him into immigration detention, where he now awaits removal proceedings. Wu’s case represents a combination of predatory sexual conduct and exploitation, both of which are among the most serious offenses prosecuted in the United States.

ICE records confirm that Wu is unlawfully present in the country, and due to the gravity of his convictions, he has been designated for removal from the U.S. He will remain in ICE custody pending the final outcome of his immigration case, after which he is expected to be deported to China.
