ICE agents arrested Yuri Estevez in Hollywood on Jan. 12 as part of a South Florida operation targeting Cuban nationals with serious violent records. Authorities report that Estevez has felony convictions for homicide, attempted premeditated murder and carrying a concealed weapon, with each offense involving either direct violence or the use of a weapon.​

Officials noted that Estevez served at least three years in prison on the attempted murder and weapons charges before being taken back into federal custody. He is now being held by immigration authorities pending removal proceedings, alongside other Cuban offenders arrested in the multi‑agency operation.
