President Donald Trump is winning the deportation fight where it matters—with Americans who want criminal illegal aliens out of the country.
A new Harvard Caps/Harris poll shows nearly 80% of Americans favor the deportation of illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, and a clear majority favor deporting all immigrants who are here illegally.
Trump’s tough takedown of criminal illegal aliens is his second most popular policy, coming in second to lowering prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients and low-income patients.
Despite what’s shown on mainstream media, the results indicate real Americans don’t reflect the left-wing rioters and Antifa mobs inciting violence outside of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities in cities like Portland and Chicago.
“President Trump’s efforts to Make America Safe Again are very popular!” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on X, adding that the media “refuses to report this.”

The Harvard Caps/Harris pollsters conducted the online survey within the United States on Oct. 1-2.
American Greatness recapped key findings, noting the vast majority of respondents—78%—said they favored “deporting immigrants who are here illegally and have committed crimes.”
According to the poll, 77% of independents and 87% of Republicans do. The policy even has above-average support among Democrats, with 69% saying they wanted them gone.
“Deporting all immigrants who are here illegally” garnered 56% support among all respondents.
The popularity of mass deportation of all illegals increased along party lines, with 76% of Republicans and 54% of Independents agreeing, while only 36% of Democrats do.
The poll results indicate Trump still has the support of voters and falls in line with the results of the 2024 election. He ran on a campaign of mass deportation and won every swing state and formerly blue counties in border states.
Although some might say it’s not very presidential, Trump has shared comical videos on social media with Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries claiming:
“Nobody likes Democrats anymore. We have no voters left because of all of our woke trans bullsh*t. Not even black people want to vote for us anymore. Even Latinos hate us.”
Meanwhile, in their desperate attempt to defy anything Trump does, Democrat politicians in blue cities and states haven’t gotten the message.
They have doubled down on the political rhetoric, using the courts and calls for violence to resist the president’s deportation efforts. Their tactics include staging publicity stunts, obstructing justice and ordering local police to “stand down” and not come to the aid of federal law enforcement.
Far-left Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson on Monday signed an executive order designating “ICE-Free Zones” in the city, and governors JB Pritzker of Illinois and Gavin Newsom of California sued the Trump administration to block National Guard deployments in their states.
In Portland, Ore., protestors and Antifa thugs have created chaos outside of the ICE facility for more than 100 days as a growing number of local residents and conservative journalists are being assaulted.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary visited the ICE Portland facility on Wednesday and is meeting with top ICE, DHS and Border Patrol officials, journalist Nick Sortor shared on X.

“Secretary Noem is on the rooftop of ICE Portland, as leftists scream “F*** the immigration authorities” (in Spanish) and “WELCOME TO THE WARZONE!” Sortor said in an update. “Noem just reassured me she’ll do everything in her power to ensure what happened to me here in Portland NEVER happens again.”
DHS also shared a recent news segment with Chief Border Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino, who is on the ground in Chicago and has a bounty on his head.
“We have a mission here. We’re going to continue that mission. We won’t stop the mission – despite what the Governor and the Mayor think… Chicago is too important. Our country is too important,” Bovino said.
American Greatness reported other key results from the poll:
- Eliminating fraud and waste in the government polled as Trump’s third most popular policy, with 75% of support.
- Closing the border garnered 68% support from respondents.
- Launching a government website for consumers to buy drugs directly from manufacturers at a discount had a solid 68% support.
- Only 65% of respondents said they favored banning “men who have undergone operations and hormones” from competing in women’s sports, a low result compared to other recent polls.
The least popular policies were adding work requirements for Medicaid, places tariffs on goods from China, Mexico and Canada, and deploying the National Guard to help fight crime in American cities.
