Under Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s leadership, criminal illegal pedophiles have been freely walking around Minneapolis and are now being cast as the victims.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) St. Paul arrested a group of convicted sexual predators during a coordinated sting in the Minneapolis area between June 6 and 11.
Sanctuary politicians, like Governor Walz, continue to stake their political careers on defending these criminals over American citizens. And The Minnesota Star Tribune has pushed the sympathetic narrative that their arrests are unjust and causing anxiety among the Hmong community.
“We have seen a lot of gross reporting, but this may take gold for despicable,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a news release from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. “There is no excuse for anyone to commit crimes against innocent children.”
The Minnesota Star Tribune sub-headline reads, “The deportations bring anxiety to the Hmong community, and accusations of cultural misunderstanding.”
The article, published July 3, opens with the claim that “two dozen Hmong men who have lived in Minnesota for decades are being held in Minnesota and Iowa jails awaiting deportation.”
But according to the St. Paul field office for Homeland Security Investigations, these men were living in the country illegally and have criminal records. The agency recently posted on X the names and arrest photos of the men from Laos and Thailand.
The article even links to a GoFundMe page for one of the men arrested, Chia Neng Vue from Laos, a convicted sex offender for 1st degree criminal sexual conduct.
Vue was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13 years old in 1998. He was also convicted of committing a crime for the benefit of a gang.
“These pedophiles are the types of sickos our brave ICE law enforcement officers are putting their lives on the line to arrest and remove from American communities,” McLaughlin said.
Following Vue’s criminal convictions, he was placed in removal proceedings. A judge issued Vue a final order of removal on Oct. 31, 2003, but Vue never left and amassed a lengthy rap sheet:
- On March 24, 2009, Vue was arrested for possessing a pistol/assault weapon by Pine County, Minnesota, Sheriff’s Office.
- On June 11, 2010, he was arrested for criminal sexual conduct in first degree by Pine County Sheriff’s Office.
- On Aug. 3, 2011, Vue was arrested for dangerous weapons and domestic assault by St. Paul, Minnesota, Police Department.
- On Dec. 30, 2011, he was charged with Violation of Domestic Abuse no contact order by Bloomington, Minnesota, Police Department.
- On April 26, 2012, Vue was arrested for Felon Convicted Crime of Violence by St. Paul Police Department.
“This illegal alien repeatedly broke our laws, committed sex and other violent crimes. Why does the media continue to peddle sob stories of criminal illegal aliens — including child pedophiles — but ignore their American victims?” McLaughlin said. “Instead of glorifying child pedophiles and violent criminal illegal aliens, the Minnesota Star Tribune should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these pedophiles from Minnesota.”
DHS issued a separate release naming others arrested during the June sting:
- Pao Angelo Vang, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child.
- Thong Lao, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child.
- Tou Pao Lee, a Thai criminal illegal alien convicted of soliciting a minor.
- Va Vang, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 1st degree sexual assault.
- Xiong Pao Vang, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.
- Yee Shae, a Thai criminal illegal alien convicted of 1st degree sexual abuse of a minor.
- Yia Xiong, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct.
- Pok Vue, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 4th degree criminal sexual conduct.
- Hue Nai Cheng, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct.
- Vang Neng Lao, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct.
- Dao Moua, a Laotian criminal illegal alien convicted of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to DHS, 70% of ICE arrests are of criminal illegal aliens with convictions or pending charges. The agency maintains many illegal immigrants categorized as “non-criminals” are actually human rights abusers, gang members or criminals who fled their own country — they just don’t have a criminal record in the U.S.
DHS officials say President Trump is putting the American people first by removing illegal immigrants who pose a threat to communities, while Democrat politicians push the narrative that ICE is taking innocent people off the street.
“Governor Walz and his fellow sanctuary politicians are fighting to keep these sex offenders and other criminal illegal aliens in our country,” McLaughlin said in a statement. “Instead of comparing ICE to the Nazi-Gestapo, Governor Walz should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these pedophiles from Minnesota.”
