Another violent clash between anti-ICE protestors and federal law enforcement erupted outside a California cannabis farm on Thursday.
The face-off went down as federal agents were executing a search warrant for alleged child labor violations and employing illegal farm workers.
The FBI has issued a $50,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of an unknown suspect who appeared to fire a pistol at federal law enforcement officers near Camarillo, California, according to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli on X.

The alleged shooting occurred at approximately 2:26 p.m. outside a Glass House Farms facility at 645 Laguna Road. Federal law enforcement officers blocked off a road outside the facility, which led to a standoff with protesters.
On Friday morning, the U.S Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement both responded on social media regarding the raid.
ICE shared a clip from DHS Public Affairs Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin discussing the unaccompanied minors found — being exploited and potentially trafficked — on FOX Business.
“The Biden administration lost ~300,000 unaccompanied children—many of these innocent children were trafficked and exploited,” DHS posted on X. “At the Ventura, California marijuana facility, @ICEgov and @CBP law enforcement rescued 8 unaccompanied migrant children from what looks like exploitation, violation of child labor laws and potentially human trafficking or smuggling. We take our responsibility to protect children seriously and will continue to work with federal law enforcement to ensure that children are safe and protected.”

Footage from the chaotic scene shows protestors running away in the farm fields after federal agents deployed tear gas. Later, protestors hurled rocks at vehicles as the immigration officers tried to leave.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott reposted an X post from California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom with the caption:
“Here’s some breaking news: 10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility — all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied. It’s now under investigation for child labor violations. This is Newsom’s California.”
Rather than condemn children working on a weed farm, Newsom criticized Thursday’s raid and railed against Trump in his social media post: “Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me “Newscum” — but he’s the real scum.”
Protestors and immigration activists have an alert system that informs them of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity. Reports flooded social media in the morning of federal agents arriving at a Glass House Farms facility, the Ventura County Star reported.
Tensions across the country continue to escalate, fueled in part by inflammatory rhetoric from the left, anarchist groups and paid agitators. Meanwhile, recent polls show over half of Americans support deporting illegal immigrants.
“If the roles were reversed, the left would be saying it’s an insurrection, right?” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said on FOX News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Thursday, per Fox Digital. “You have federal law enforcement that have clear authority to enforce clear federal law, and if you’re illegally employed in this country, that is a violation of federal law.”
In California, they have developed a sense of entitlement to disregard federal laws that they don’t like, particularly with regard to immigration, DeSantis said.
“I think the situation has escalated,” DeSantis said. “I think clearly they’re in the wrong, but this is likely not going to stop in California any time soon because I think this has just been embedded in the psyche there that somehow they can disregard laws that they don’t want to follow.”
Video footage posted by several outlets showed federal agents in tactical gear blocking off a roadway. The crowd grew to more than 100 people, who taunted the agents, yelled expletives and hurled objects at them.
Military helicopters were also seen flying low over the fields, a maneuver generally used to flush out people hiding, Fox News Digital reported.
The raid marked one of Ventura County’s largest since the Trump administration clamped down on illegal immigration and worksite enforcement, the VC Star reported.
Shortly after 2 p.m., a large white bus drove down Laguna Road from the facility, accompanied by what appeared to be a National Guard vehicle.
Although federal agents had moved the line of protesters back and dispersed some of the crowd, demonstrators remained throughout the day and hurled rocks at their caravan of vehicles.
At about 4:30 p.m., Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies marched down Laguna Road and cleared the intersection of demonstrators.
The Glass House Farms greenhouse complex on Laguna Road is one of the largest licensed cannabis farms in California, with more than 5 million square feet of growing space. The company bought the property from Houweling’s Tomatoes in 2021, according to VC Star.
Federal agents also raided a Glass House Farms greenhouse facility in Carpinteria on July 10, according to the Santa Barbara news site Noozhawk. Protesters there faced off with agents in a similar situation to the one near Camarillo.
