Feds nab Mexican gang member in the U.S. illegally

Federal agents apprehended a Mexican gang member in the U.S. illegally this week.

Video of Jesus Ramon Estrada-Ivarguen’s arrest in Colorado was posted Tuesday on X. The video shows federal agents approaching a small hatchback car with weapons drawn and pulling two men with blurred faces from the vehicle.

According to Homeland Security Investigations, which is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, one of the people arrested was Estrada-Ivarguen, who’s allegedly part of the gang Sureños.

Estrada-Ivarguen also has assault and auto theft convictions, HSI said.

“He will remain in ICE custody pending his removal,” the agency added.

HSI was assisted in the arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Denver office.

According to ICE, Sureños has a stronghold in Southern California, but is also present in Texas, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada. An affiliate of the Mexican Mafia, the gang is known to traffic weapons, drugs and humans.

Last month, ICE also arrested Juan Carlos Torres Negrete, a Mexican national and Sureños gangster, in Dallas.

“Given the violent behavior found within his gang, he’ll stay in our custody pending removal proceedings,” ICE said.
