Honduran illegal caught on camera dragging sex-trafficking victim back to trailer for alleged beating, sexual assault

Ring camera footage helped bust an illegal immigrant from Honduras who allegedly held a Chinese sex-trafficking victim hostage for days without food and water and sexually assaulted her.

Police arrested Jose Armando Carcamo-Perdomo, 22, on July 14 after neighbors reported seeing the woman screaming as she tried to flee a trailer in Harris County, Texas, according to KPRC 2.

Carcamo-Perdomo has been charged with aggravated kidnapping. Deportation officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged an immigration detainer with the Harris County Jail following his arrest, KRPC 2 reported.

The woman, a Chinese national, was rescued after surveillance footage caught her captor carrying her back to the trailer in East Houston where she was reportedly beaten and sexually assaulted.

While in captivity, the woman said she was tied up and sexually assaulted by Carcamo-Perdomo on multiple occasions.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators believe the incident is tied to a larger human smuggling and sex trafficking ring, which they are investigating.

There was a small closet with a piece of wood across the door that was screwed into the frame,” Lt. John Klafka, chief of the adult special crimes unit at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News. “They were able to rip that piece of wood off and open the door. It had been tied up. She had some type of object like a sock or something that was used to bound her hands.”

Carcamo-Perdomo illegally entered the U.S. on May 24, 2020, near Hidalgo, Texas. U.S. Customs and Border Protection encountered Carcamo-Perdomo Nov. 24, 2020, during a vehicle stop near Falfurrias, Texas, and he was issued a notice to appear, according to a statement from ICE.

In 2023, an immigration judge decided to dismiss the case, Fox News Digital reported.

“This heinous criminal illegal alien was freely roaming our interior and terrorizing American communities,” DHS said in an X response to the incident.

“Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is working day and night to remove the MILLIONS of illegal aliens in our interior. LAW AND ORDER WILL PREVAIL!”

After trying to flee, Ring doorbell camera footage from a neighbor allegedly shows Carcamo-Perdomo grabbing her and hauling her back as she kicked frantically, The New York Post reported.

According to court records, Carcamo-Perdomo locked the woman inside a room for five days at a home on Elderberry Lane past East Houston off Highway 90. Photos show a dilapidated gray trailer behind a security fence, and there’s reportedly a mechanic shop on the property.

The documents said the woman was held captive for five days without food or water. Carcamo-Perdomo also allegedly punched her, tied her up and sexually assaulted her before placing her in a closet, KPRC 2 reported.

Klafka, who leads the adult special crimes unit at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, said the investigation began after authorities received a 911 call from Elderberry Lane.

A neighbor called police to report the incident after they saw the woman running down the street before a man grabbed her and carried her back screaming.

When deputies arrived and started asking questions, a man at the property said he worked at the mechanic shop. He wouldn’t give a lot of information and claimed he didn’t know anything, Klafka said.

“He knew there was someone in the house, but he claimed to have never seen her or said it was a woman that lived there but didn’t know her, didn’t see her, has never had any interactions with her,” Klafka told KPRC 2.

Once deputies received consent to go into the trailer, they heard a faint knocking sound. In one of the bedrooms, they found a closet boarded up and discovered the woman inside.

The victim told police she was brought to Houston from New York and promised better pay as a masseuse. But once she arrived, her captors confiscated her Chinese passport and moved her into the trailer home, according to police.

Klafka said the victim was taken to an undisclosed location and is receiving counseling and medical care. Local authorities are working hard to find the rest of the people involved.

“This is a very traumatic event,” Klafka told KPRC 2. “You know, you’re in a foreign country. You were brought from one giant city to another that’s halfway across the country south. And she has no friends, no family. Nobody is here for her.”
