The hostile Haitian gang member who went viral while yelling “Biden forever” during his immigration arrest has been deported, but he didn’t go without a fight.
Federal authorities arrested Wisteguens Jean Quely Charles days after President Donald Trump began his second term. Fox News did a ride-along and the footage went viral after Charles shouted at the cameras “I’m not going back to Haiti.”
On Sept. 10, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported Charles back to his home country.
Charles is a member of a violent Haitian street gang and racked up 17 criminal convictions in Massachusetts in a two-year span, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said.
He entered the U.S. in 2013 after the Obama Administration granted him Temporary Protected Status. After his status was terminated in 2022, he remained in the country illegally and went on a crime spree.
He has since been dubbed the “Hateful Haitian” by DHS. His violent offenses include convictions for “assault and battery on a public employee, resisting arrest, and drug trafficking, among other heinous crimes,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said.
Charles left on an ICE flight out of Louisiana and became “extremely combative” aboard the aircraft, officials said. He also made crude and threatening remarks about President Trump and his family during the deportation flight, Fox News reported.
“He went viral for praising Biden as he was getting arrested, because he knew that the Biden Administration’s open borders turned America into a paradise for criminals like him,” Mullin said. “The Trump administration has finally done what both the Obama and Biden Administrations failed to do and deported this criminal back where he belongs.”
Fox News cameras captured his arrest live, and the footage quickly went viral.
ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston arrested Charles, an alleged member of the Back Block Money Gang, on Jan. 22, 2025, in the sanctuary city of Boston.
In the viral video, Charles shouted at the cameras “I’m not going back to Haiti.”
As ICE agents secured him in the vehicle, he continued talking to the cameras, adding “F**k Trump. You feel me? Yo, Biden forever, bro!” He then said, “Thank Obama for everything he did for me, bro!”
According to DHS records, he received TPS status in February 2013 and was admitted to the United States in July 2013. In July 2022, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services terminated his TPS.
He had repeated run-ins with Massachusetts police. He was arrested, charged and convicted of 17 crimes between Aug. 16, 2022, and Aug. 14, 2024, ICE officials shared after his arrest.
Along with assault and battery, Charles’ criminal history includes convictions for possession of and possession to distribute controlled substances, distribution of controlled substances, trespassing, carrying dangerous weapon to wit brass knuckles, possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of ammunition without a permit, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
ICE ERO encountered Charles April 15, 2023, following one of his many arrests.
ERO Boston issued an immigration detainer against Charles with the Norfolk House of Correction in Massachusetts. However, the correctional facility released Charles Oct. 20, 2023, without honoring the immigration detainer, ICE officials said.
An immigration judge issued Charles a final order of removal on Nov. 7, 2025, prompting his ICE arrest months later.
Despite his extensive rap sheet, Charles spent 19 months in federal custody before DHS officials could secure his removal.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin witnessed his ICE arrest and asked federal officials why it took so long to deport him.
“I’m told by federal sources that he exhausted every single potential legal option to try to remain in the country and has had a final deportation order since November of last year,” Melugin shared on social media.
