ICE targets child predators and sex offenders in California sweep

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s crackdown on criminal illegal aliens continued this week with the arrest of 10 additional sexual predators across multiple jurisdictions.

These individuals, who long evaded justice in sanctuary-friendly regions, now face removal and legal accountability. Two additional high-risk offenders—Sithideth Aphayvong and Jose Ventura Gomez-Rivera—were also arrested during the same operation and were previously profiled in this week in Deported.news’ Five Worst of the Worst report.

Antonia Miguel‑Francisco — A Mexican national arrested after a conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. The verdict came from a jurisdiction reluctant to detain her for ICE intervention.

Gurmeet Singh — Originally from India, Singh was arrested for distributing obscene materials. His case underscores ICE’s mandate to act even where local authorities may consider charges minor.

Casar Ozuna‑Martinez — This Mexican national was detained for a conviction involving lewd acts with a child. ICE agents prioritized the case due to repeated offenses and community exposure.

Arturo Lopez‑Ramirez — Arrested for sodomy by use of force, his behavior reflects a particularly violent pattern of criminal sexual conduct. ICE described him as “one of the most dangerous offenders encountered during recent operations.”

Miguel Jimenez‑Jimenez — Arrested after being convicted of arranging a meeting with a minor to commit a sexual offense, highlighting the agency’s zero-tolerance posture toward covert grooming crimes.

Fabian Perez‑Ornelas — Removed from sanctuary protection after conviction for contacting a minor under 18 for sexual purposes—an offense ICE sees as egregious.

Wilmar Aramis Vasquez Lopez — A Guatemalan national arrested for performing a lewd act on a child under 14. ICE reports he had previously evaded detection in child protection zones.

Jose Mancilla‑Nunez — Arrested for sexual battery, his case demonstrates ICE’s priority on violence against minors regardless of local detention hesitation.

A Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Governor Kristi Noem, praised the operation. Additionally, she gave praise to the Trump Administration when she posted on X:

“Under [President] Trump, NOWHERE is a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens. If you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, arrest you, deport you, and you will never return.”

Her words capture the administration’s enforcement philosophy driving interior operations in sanctuary states.

ICE officials confirmed that all eight individuals remain in federal custody and have been placed into removal proceedings. Senior agency sources say that these targeted actions reflect an ongoing strategy to get the “worst of the worst” off U.S. streets—especially those who exploit sanctuary policies to avoid prosecution.
