An illegal immigrant in Texas has been arrested for allegedly stealing the identity of a 13-year-old boy, causing him to lose Medicaid coverage.
Antonio De Jesus Moreno Escobar is currently held in custody on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office said.

Escobar allegedly purchased a stolen Social Security number, Texas ID, and fake green card for $120. He was able to use the stolen identity of the boy, from Hutto, Texas, to get seven different jobs in the Houston area, according to Paxton’s office.
“This case is a disturbing example of how illegal aliens drain our resources, hurt innocent Texans, and even deprive children of vital healthcare,” Paxton said in a statement. “My office will ensure that illegal aliens who exploit our systems and target our families face the full force of the law.”
