An illegal alien from Venezuela who hit a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle while attempting to flee from officers in Detroit will be deported, federal law enforcement says.
The illegal, who wasn’t identified in Border Patrol’s announcement, is facing an assault charge and an alien inadmissibility charge.
“During the arrest, the subject attempted to flee and rammed one of the Border Patrol vehicles,” Detroit Sector Chief Patrol Agent Javier Geronimo, Jr. said in a post on social media.

The illegal, who was arrested last Wednesday as part of a “targeted enforcement action,” also had a criminal history, Geronimo, Jr. added.
The arrest is one of several that Border Patrol has made detaining illegals in the Detroit area in recent weeks.
Another illegal from Venezuela was arrested last week in Southgate and will be deported.

Two other illegals from Venezuela were arrested at the end of April and will face deportation, according to the station chief.

In February, Detroit Police Chief suspended two police officers for contacting federal immigration enforcement, leading to the arrest of two illegals. Bettison initially wanted to fire the two officers, but reversed course after the city’s Board of Police Commissioners voted for 30-day suspensions without pay.
