A MS-13 member from El Salvador has been charged with first-degree murder in Florida after shooting a man multiple times and burning his body, police said.
The suspect, Luis Eduardo Olla-Hernandez, was arrested Aug. 23 by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and charged with premeditated murder.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also lodged an immigration detainer against him with the Leon County Jail.
According to court records, Olla-Hernandez, 29, allegedly lured the victim, Devin Graves, to his property in southwest Leon County and killed him.
The court documents allege Olla-Hernandez tried to destroy evidence and dispose of Graves’ body. He forced his own girlfriend at gunpoint to help him move the body to a burn pile, police said.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office arrested Olla-Hernandez after finding the partially-burned human remains on his property. Leon County is in the Florida Panhandle and home to the state capital of Tallahassee.
Olla-Hernandez illegally crossed the border near Hidalgo, Texas, in February 2016 under the Obama Administration, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said.
An immigration judge issued him a final order of removal on Sept. 18, 2024, but he was never removed by the Biden administration.
Olla-Hernandez has been identified as a member of MS-13, DHS said, which the Trump administration has designated as a foreign terrorist organization.
“If it weren’t for the open-border policies of the Obama Administration, he would not have been able to come into our country, and Devin Graves would still be alive,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said. “ICE will work with our partners in Florida to make sure this killer is never released back into our communities.”
WCTV News reported from the scene of the murder, which showed an old mobile home and several sheds. The suspect lived in a converted shed on the property.
His girlfriend told investigators Graves was lured to the shed and sat down. Olla-Hernandez then allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot the victim multiple times.
Authorities said the remains were burned so badly that only a small portion were left, WCTV reported.
The outlet also spoke to the victim’s mother, who said she was “devastated” and “shocked.” His cousin, Chelsea Houston, spoke on camera and said “there’s still a lot of pieces of the puzzle that’s not making sense that we’re still trying to piece together.
Houston also encouraged tips from the public and said everyone involved needs to be held accountable.
Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis has been an outspoken supporter of border and immigration enforcement, even mandating all 67 county sheriffs sign 287(g) agreements and cooperate with ICE.
However, the state has long been a popular destination for illegal immigrants due to its warmer climate and proximity to Cuba and other Caribbean nations.
The Sunshine State has had a recent string of crime committed by illegal immigrants. A Cuban mother was arrested for child abuse and arson in Miami. A Jamaican national was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after stabbing two people at a Burger King in Panama City Beach, Fla.
In Jacksonville, Fla., four illegal immigrants were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a legal refugee in a park. And a Nicaraguan migrant allegedly chased his roommate and fatally stabbed him with a machete in a trailer park in Hallandale Beach, near Hollywood, Florida.
