A trio of MS-13 gang members wanted for attempted murder was nabbed in an operation by federal and local law enforcement agencies in Nassau County, N.Y.
All three gang members are in the custody of the Nassau County Police Department. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it’s awaiting their release before they detain the trio.
“America is no longer a dumping ground for foreign criminals and gang members,” acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement. “ICE will continue to find, arrest and remove MS-13 and other terrorists who come here to wreak havoc on communities and destroy this nation.”
In NY, ICE busts 3 MS-13 gang members. Two of these entered under the Biden administration, and the third under the Obama administration.
Together the 3 have been charged with 14 attempted murder charges and 49 counts of assault.

Elias Wilfredo Serrano Bonilla, a 21-year-old illegal from El Salvador with previous, gang-related charges, was one of the individuals arrested in the August 8 operation, which was carried out by the Nassau County Police Department, ICE New York City, and the FBI.
The county has charged Serrano Bonilla with eight counts of attempted murder, in addition to numerous other charges including first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Edras Daniel Velasquez Giron, 19, an illegal from Honduras who a judge previously ordered to be removed, was charged with six counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, among other charges.
Jeffrey Bladimir Valladares Archaga, 20, also an illegal from Honduras with previous charges, was also apprehended.
“ICE has lodged immigration detainers against all three gang members and will assume custody when they’re released from the New York justice system,” the agency said.
