Another vehicle ramming by a violent illegal alien from El Salvador occurred on Wednesday in California, prompting a federal agent to fire back in self-defense but not injuring the suspect.
Federal agents were trying to detain William Eduardo Moran Carballo, who is involved in a human smuggling operation, on Wednesday morning in Compton, Calif., according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Carballo also has two prior arrests for “inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant” and had a final order of removal, DHS said in a statement on X.

Carballo tried to evade arrest and reportedly rammed a federal officer as DHS law enforcement conducted a targeted operation, a DHS spokesperson said.
The suspect was not injured, but a Customs and Border Protection officer was injured, DHS said.
“In a dangerous attempt to evade arrest, this criminal illegal alien weaponized his vehicle and rammed law enforcement. Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired defensive shots,” DHS posted on X.
Video footage and photos of the BMW show that the front bumper and hood is smashed, along with the windshield.
Carballo was not hit but tried to flee on foot. He was arrested following the reported ramming, which happened in the 2400 block of 126th Street in unincorporated Los Angeles, Fox News Digital reported.
DHS also said an immigration judge had issued Carballo a final order of removal in 2019.
Across the country, federal officers working for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol have increasingly been under attack.
DHS has reported a 3,200% increase in vehicle attacks, with brazen attempts by illegal immigrants trying to flee as well as anti-ICE agitators using their vehicles to interfere with enforcement efforts.
Wednesday’s incident came while Gov. Gavin Newsom was gallivanting at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and trashing President Donald Trump.
“These dangerous attempts to evade arrest have surged since sanctuary politicians, including Governor Newsom, have encouraged illegal aliens to evade arrest and provided guides advising illegal aliens how to recognize ICE, block entry, and defy arrest,” the DHS spokesperson said.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and other DHS officials have highlighted the continued assault on federal law enforcement, particularly in sanctuary cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and Minneapolis.
Leavitt, during a recent news conference, said they are facing an 8000% increase in death threats, as well as a 1,200% increase in assaults.
“Let me be clear, President Trump and his entire administration stand fully behind the heroic men and women of ICE, and will always uphold Law and Order in the United States of America,” Leavitt said. “The deadly incident that took place in Minnesota yesterday occurred as a result of a larger, sinister, left-wing movement that has spread across our country, where our brave men and women of federal law enforcement are under organized attack.”
In a post on X Thursday, Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino reported another vehicle ramming in Minneapolis. Agents responded and took the subject into custody for assault on a federal agent.

“Weaponizing vehicles against federal agents IS assault! This Mexican national followed, threatened, and attempted to ram a Border Patrol vehicle while agents were conducting enforcement operations in #Minneapolis,” Bovino wrote. “INTERFERING WITH OR ASSAULTING A FEDERAL AGENT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, PERIOD.”
On Wednesday, anti-ICE agitators surrounded Bovino and other agents at a Speedway gas station in Minneapolis. A convoy of cars followed the agents and then got out and harassed them in the parking lot.
Based on video footage, they yelled “Nazi” and dumped a bag of chips on his head and shoulders.

“Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino DENIED SERVICE at speedway on Portland Avenue,” on-the-ground independent journalist Cam Higby posted with another video. “I asked the Commander if this is illegal, and the cashier said ‘I DON’T CARE IF IT IS.’”

DHS also shared a post that showed a kennel in Minneapolis couldn’t put their political views aside to care for K-9 Dina, writing “ICE out” on her feeding chart.
