Six illegals charged for murder of SC mother found dead in her car

Six illegal immigrants accused of killing a South Carolina mother allegedly texted each other after the crime, showing no remorse for the random roadside murder and robbery attempt.

Deputies discovered Larisha Sharell Thompson, 40, behind the wheel of her vehicle on May 2 in Lancaster, South Carolina. She was deceased from a gunshot wound.

The six illegal immigrants from Honduras, ages 13 through 21, were arrested May 12 in connection with Thompson’s murder and a separate burglary that occurred on April 30.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed detainers on all six criminal illegal aliens as they await criminal prosecution in South Carolina.

They include three adults, Asael Aminadas Torres-Chirinos, 21; Jarby Ardon Ramos-Odari, 18; Jeyson Sobied Pineda-Salgado, 17; and three juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 15. The group is also linked to an attempted burglary that occurred on April 30.

WSCOTV-9 reported the suspects met each other through a soccer team and used WhatsApp to plan the botched burglary at a convenience store, which linked them to Thompson’s murder. Investigators say additional video footage shows them palling around inside a store and even flipping off a camera after the murder.

“They were happy that they killed somebody,” Deb Thompson, the victim’s mother, told WSCOTV-9. “They even talked about throwing a car in the river, getting rid of bodies, her body and everything. If they could have got in her car, we might not know where she was.”

The suspects reportedly exchanged text messages after Thompson’s murder, allegedly using the phrases “mission fail” and “this is just the beginning.” Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Justin Weiland testified about the messages during a May 14 hearing, as first reported by local outlet The Rock Hill Herald.

Police found Thompson’s car on Riverside Road in Lancaster, located about an hour south of Charlotte, North Carolina. Relatives said the mother of two was headed to a birthday party, according to The Herald.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies launched a search for her after Thompson’s family said they had lost contact with her, Breitbart.com reported.

All six suspects charged admitted to robbing a car during a May 14 hearing, according to Sixth Circuit Deputy Solicitor Melissa McGinnis.

Fox News Digital reported that Lancaster Sheriff Barry Faile described Thompson’s murder as a “random robbery attempt” and said “This shooting defies any sense of decency in a civilized society.”

In another Fox News report, former South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon said the senseless killing “shocks the conscience” and the evidence indicates “a premeditated plan.”

“The text messages that have been cited in open court show a complete lack of remorse by the defendants,” Condon told Fox News Digital. “…Then, after the murder is accomplished, there’s just no remorse whatsoever or any regret expressed by any of them for murdering this innocent lady.”

Condon added: “The fact that we’ve allowed illegal immigrants into this state to commit such crimes shouldn’t have happened. It has happened.”

Megyn Kelly recently highlighted the case on The Megyn Kelly Show, saying the killing has been largely ignored by mainstream media.

Authorities believe the six suspects were in the same vehicle and pulled alongside Thompson’s car. Torres-Chirinos, who was driving, allegedly fired the fatal shot at Thompson. They attempted to enter her vehicle and then fled the scene when it was locked, police said.

“Larisha Sharell Thompson’s life was tragically taken by criminal illegal aliens,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a news release issued by the Department of Homeland Security. “President Trump and Secretary Noem will always fight for the victims of illegal alien crime and their families. The safety of American citizens comes first.”

Authorities tied the suspects to Thompson’s murder through ballistics evidence at the scene of the convenience store burglary. On April 30, deputies responded to a complaint of a possible burglary at the Van Wyck Mart at 644 Rock Hill Highway.

The store owner told deputies that surveillance video footage showed several young men trying to get into the store around 10:30 p.m. on April 29. The suspects are also accused of firing a handgun at a security camera and the bathroom door.

Fox News Digital reported that detectives determined that ballistic evidence recovered from the scene of the murder came from the same 9 mm handgun as those at the scene of the burglary days before.

Through surveillance footage, investigators also identified Torres-Chirinos, the 21-year-old suspect, at the scene of both crimes. Torres-Chino was previously arrested in 2023 for domestic violence, according to DHS.

The three adult suspects are charged with murder, attempted armed robbery and second-degree burglary. Authorities believe Torres-Chirinos fired the handgun in both incidents, and he is charged with two counts of firearms possession during the commission of a crime and one count of firearms possession by an unlawful alien. A judge denied bond for all three men.

The three juvenile suspects are also charged with murder, attempted armed robbery and second-degree burglary.

They are subject to removal from the United States based on their immigration status, the sheriff’s office said.

“That doesn’t mean the federal government will scoop them up and send them out of the country before their cases are heard in court,” Faile said. “It simply means if for any reason, any one or more of them becomes eligible for release before their charges are resolved in court, Homeland Security will take custody of them, and they will not be back out on the street. Our intention is that all six remain detained until they face the full weight of our judicial system.”
