Heydi Aguilera-Bustillo/Honduras/Child Endangerment, Aiding an Offender
Heydi Aguilera-Bustillo, a Honduran national, was transferred from state custody to ICE detention on January 6, 2026, at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee. The transfer occurred after she completed her state sentence for convictions stemming from a 2016 case in which her 21-month-old son was killed by her boyfriend in Blaine.
Court records show Aguilera-Bustillo was convicted of child endangerment for failing to protect her son from abuse, and of aiding an offender for assisting her boyfriend after the crime. The public order crimes reference additional charges related to the incident. She was sentenced to second-degree manslaughter among other counts and served time in Minnesota’s prison system before being taken into immigration custody.
An ICE spokesman confirmed Aguilera-Bustillo is being held pending removal proceedings based on her criminal convictions and immigration status. She remains in federal detention while authorities finalize her deportation case.
