U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested David Varela, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras, in Atlanta, Georgia, on charges of unlawful reentry and robbery.

Varela had previously been removed from the country and reentered without authorization, constituting a federal felony. In addition to the immigration violation, he faces a charge of robbery — a serious felony under Georgia law involving the taking of property from another person by force, intimidation, or threat. The combination of criminal and immigration charges places him among the most serious offenders targeted by ICE enforcement operations.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers apprehended Varela in Atlanta. He currently remains in federal immigration custody and faces removal proceedings before a Department of Justice immigration judge, with potential deportation back to Honduras.
