Franklin Vasquez
Franklin Vasquez/Honduras/DUI, Reckless Driving
Franklin Vasquez, a 42-year-old citizen of Honduras and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by ICE New Orleans following notification from local authorities. Vasquez is wanted in Honduras for the kidnapping of a minor for the purpose of sexual assault—a serious foreign felony offense with cross-border implications. ICE officers confirmed his illegal status and took him into custody during a targeted enforcement operation in Louisiana.
In addition to the outstanding Honduran warrant, Vasquez has an extensive criminal history in the U.S. that includes two separate convictions for driving under the influence (DUI). Records from local law enforcement show that he also violated the state’s implied consent law by refusing chemical testing during one of those DUI arrests. Vasquez has been cited multiple times for operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license and was also charged with reckless driving, further compounding his record of dangerous behavior behind the wheel.
Given the serious nature of his foreign warrant and repeat offenses in the U.S., Vasquez was designated a high-priority arrest by ICE enforcement officers. He is now in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. ICE has lodged all necessary paperwork with the immigration court, and he will be held throughout the duration of his case. If removal is granted, ICE will coordinate with Honduran authorities to ensure Vasquez is returned to face justice for the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor.
