Gracione De Souza-Silva/Brazil/Criminal Alien Offender

by G. George | December 10, 2025

On November 18, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Boston Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) took custody of Gracione De Souza-Silva, a Brazilian national classified as a criminal alien offender. The arrest was made possible through cooperation with the New Hampshire State Police, utilizing the federal 287(g) program to identify and detain non-citizens with criminal histories.

The 287(g) program enables local law enforcement to work directly with ICE, allowing for more effective identification and processing of individuals who are subject to immigration enforcement due to criminal activity or outstanding violations. De Souza-Silva was flagged as a priority for removal after law enforcement review confirmed his status.

He is currently held by ICE, pending removal proceedings that could result in deportation to Brazil. Officials have not released specific details on his criminal history or any additional charges at this time. This case highlights the effectiveness of interagency cooperation in handling criminal non-citizens.
