ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Washington, D.C. officers arrested Jorge Armando Melendez‑Gonzalez, a 27‑year‑old illegal alien from El Salvador, in Fairfax County, Virginia, after local officials released him despite an active immigration detainer. Federal records show he has been arrested 10 times between March 2018 and July 2025 and charged with 19 different crimes.

His criminal history includes three counts of malicious shooting, unlawful wounding, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, all serious violent offenses under Virginia law. Additional charges include assault and battery, assault on a family member, grand larceny, trespassing, possession of false government identification, disorderly or “orderly” conduct, public intoxication, disturbing the peace, and making a false statement to law enforcement.

Melendez‑Gonzalez first entered the United States illegally in June 2015 and was ordered removed by an immigration judge in 2016 but failed to depart. He now remains in ICE custody pending removal after his latest community arrest.
