U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 30-year-old Guatemalan national Jorge Eliseo Torres-Soto on August 22 during a targeted enforcement operation in southeast Texas that focused on criminal foreign nationals unlawfully present in the country.
ICE identified Torres-Soto as a criminal alien and child predator, highlighting his case among the most serious offenders taken into custody during the weeklong sweep.
According to public reports, Torres-Soto was previously convicted in October 2024 of sexual assault of a child, a felony offense that placed him in a top-priority category for arrest and removal proceedings.
His apprehension was part of an operation that resulted in 822 arrests, including multiple convicted child predators, transnational gang members, and individuals with homicide-related convictions, as federal and state agencies coordinated to remove high-risk offenders from the Houston area.
