Juan Antonio Arroyo

Juan Antonio Arroyo/Mexico/Second-Degree Murder, Gang Affiliation

by G. George | December 11, 2025

On November 24, Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Los Angeles arrested Juan Antonio Arroyo, a 49-year-old Mexican national with a serious violent criminal record. Arroyo previously served 17 years in prison for second-degree murder, reflecting his conviction for a fatal offense under state law.

In addition to his murder conviction, Arroyo is documented as a member of the Compton 70’s gang, a street gang associated with violent criminal activity in the Los Angeles area. Gang affiliation is a significant factor in immigration enforcement decisions, particularly when combined with a prior homicide conviction.

Following his arrest, Arroyo was transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, where he remains pending removal proceedings. These proceedings will determine the timing and conditions of his deportation to Mexico and are handled as a high-priority matter due to his criminal history and gang ties.
