ICE St. Paul arrested Luis Manuel Jimenez-Vega, a 34-year-old citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien present in the United States. Jimenez-Vega was taken into custody during an enforcement operation focused on identifying previously deported foreign nationals with recent criminal charges. According to ICE records, Jimenez-Vega was previously removed from the United States and later reentered the country without inspection, making him subject to reinstatement of his prior removal order.

Jimenez-Vega was recently arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) in Howard County, Iowa. DUI offenses are taken seriously due to their risk to public safety, especially when committed by individuals already in violation of immigration laws. Following his local arrest, ICE officers issued a detainer, and upon his release from county custody, he was transferred directly into ICE custody.

Because of his prior removal and new criminal charges, Jimenez-Vega is considered a priority for enforcement and deportation. He is currently detained at an ICE facility in the St. Paul Area of Responsibility and will remain in custody pending immigration proceedings. His removal will likely be expedited due to the reinstated removal order unless he is granted relief by an immigration judge.

ICE continues to monitor cases involving foreign nationals with multiple immigration violations and recent criminal activity. Jimenez-Vega’s case remains under review, and he will not be released from custody while removal efforts are underway.
