Nery Orlando/Guatemala/DUI, Assault, Domestic Violence

by G. George | June 29, 2025

ICE New Orleans arrested Nery Orlando, a citizen of Guatemala who is illegally present in the United States. Orlando was taken into custody during targeted enforcement operations focused on identifying illegal aliens with serious or repeated criminal offenses. At the time of his arrest, he lacked lawful immigration status and had no pending applications for legal relief.

Orlando’s criminal history is extensive and includes multiple offenses that raise concerns about his behavior and disregard for public safety. He has been convicted of reckless driving and driving without a license, both of which are serious traffic-related offenses that endanger others. Additionally, he has a conviction for driving under the influence (DUI), which further illustrates his willingness to operate a vehicle while impaired.

Orlando’s criminal record also includes violent offenses. He has a conviction for assault and a separate domestic violence offense, both of which involve physical harm or the threat of harm to others. These types of crimes are particularly troubling when combined with a history of defiance toward the law.

He was also cited for violating probation, an indication that he failed to comply with the terms of a court-issued sentence, further demonstrating his repeated noncompliance with the justice system.

Following his arrest, ICE placed Orlando into removal proceedings. He remains in ICE custody and will await a hearing before an immigration judge to determine the outcome of his case.
