Oscar Astorga-Gamez/Mexico/Controlled Substance Manufacturing

by G. George | June 27, 2025

Oscar Astorga-Gamez, a 40-year-old citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by ICE Denver and the FBI following a targeted enforcement operation. Astorga-Gamez has an extensive criminal history that includes felony convictions for racketeering and manufacturing controlled substances. Both offenses are considered aggravated felonies under immigration law and make him subject to removal from the U.S.

His racketeering conviction stemmed from his involvement in an organized criminal enterprise engaged in multiple illegal activities, including drug distribution and money laundering. In a separate case, Astorga-Gamez was convicted of manufacturing controlled substances, specifically methamphetamine, which led to a multi-year prison sentence. These offenses illustrate his ongoing participation in high-level criminal activity that threatened public safety.

Following the completion of his criminal sentence, Astorga-Gamez was transferred to ICE custody. A review of his immigration records confirmed that he had previously entered the country illegally and had no lawful immigration status. ICE placed a detainer to ensure custody transfer upon his release from the criminal justice system.

Astorga-Gamez will remain in ICE detention pending immigration proceedings before a judge. His prior criminal convictions and immigration violations make him a candidate for expedited removal. If the immigration court orders deportation, arrangements will be made for his repatriation to Mexico. He is currently being held in a secure ICE facility in Colorado while awaiting the outcome of his removal case.
