A Canadian woman who overstayed her visa is now in immigration custody following an altercation with a teenager wearing pro-Trump, pro-USA attire at a New Jersey beach.
Kaitlyn Tracey, a 33-year-old Canadian national, is accused of verbally harassing a group of teens and assaulting one of them at the Jersey Shore over the Fourth of July weekend.
Surveillance video and other footage captured Tracey confronting a group of teens on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach. Some of the teens were wearing patriotic clothing with political wording, according to police and media reports.
After an investigation, the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Tracey. She faces charges for simple assault, neglect of a child, harassment, and obstruction, court records indicate.
Officials in Ocean County, New Jersey, confirmed she was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after authorities determined she entered the country on a visa in 2024 and never left.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security also shared on social media that she was in ICE custody.

“This criminal illegal alien who ASSAULTED a teenage girl wearing pro-Trump memorabilia is now in ICE CUSTODY,” DHS wrote.
Tracey allegedly confronted a group of four teenagers — including a 16-year-old girl with “patriotic-colored” MAGA sweatpants featuring the word “ICE,” according to court documents obtained by NJ.com.
The teen and three friends were walking on the boardwalk on July 3 when Tracey approached them as she recorded with her phone, according to court documents.
In another video circulating on social media, it shows someone who is not in view going after the victim and slapping the teenager, who was wearing blue shorts and an America 250th tank top.
Tracey, reportedly living in Ocean Grove, New Jersey with her husband, started yelling at the teenager because of what she was wearing, according to local news reports.
Tracey fled but was identified following an investigation and arrested by the Point Pleasant Beach police on Monday, July 13. Police said the assault was captured on surveillance video.
Tracey entered the United States on April 14, 2024, on a visa set to expire on Sept. 6, 2024. She will remain ICE custody pending her immigration proceedings, DHS said.
“In violation of our nation’s laws, she overstayed her visa and failed to depart,” DHS officials shared in another X post.
The New York Post reported that the MAGA teen slapper’s husband has a history of posting outlandish TikTok videos targeting Trump. In one video, he wishes Trump and his family would get cancer. In another, he fantasizes over President Trump’s death and the nationwide celebration to follow.
Following her arrest, her husband, Matt Geroni, who bills himself as the “Jester of the Jersey Shore,” posted a tearful plea on social media asking for help and urging officials to set her free.
“I need help,” Geroni said in a video posted to TikTok. “I need my wife. I don’t want to see her get hurt.”
He also started a GoFundMe attempting to raise money for his wife’s legal defense, but it was later removed.
A witness told The Post Wednesday she saw the wild fight unfold near Jenkinson’s indoor food pavilion on the boardwalk.
“It was yelling back and forth,” the witness, who asked not to be identified, told The Post. “It was quick. We were all saying she must be drunk…to go after a 16-year-old.”
The Ocean County Jail in Toms River confirmed that Tracey had been released into ICE custody, Fox News Digital reported.
She was reportedly taken to Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey, which has been the site of ongoing clashes between anti-ICE agitators and federal agents as well as demonstrations by Democratic politicians.
Geroni confirmed on Wednesday his wife was taken to Delaney Hall, whining on social media about the conditions. He has posted videos about the Delaney Hall protests and alleged inhumane conditions inside the detention facility.
“She said when she was brought there, she was left in a room where she had to sleep on a metal bench with all the lights on,” Geroni, 42, told The Daily Mail,
Ocean County is one of the few Republican strongholds remaining in the state, and retains the state’s longest-serving lawmaker of any party: Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., in office since 1981, Fox News reported.
New Jersey lawmakers recently adopted sanctuary-type policies that protect illegal immigrants in the state. Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed the sweeping three-bill sanctuary package into law in March.
Earlier this month, Essex County in northeastern New Jersey enacted new sanctuary policies, declaring that the county will no longer honor ICE detainers.
The Essex County Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution restricting the use of county property and resources to assist with civil immigration enforcement activities.
In addition, local authorities will release criminals back into New Jersey communities rather than notifying ICE.
DHS officials slammed the move, saying “These policies will make New Jersey less safe by releasing criminals to perpetrate more crimes and create more victims.”
